SEAT TRIM HEATER
Fostoria
Industries is committed to the continuous improvement of its
infrared heating systems.
Fostoria’s engineering group has recently developed
an innovative new system to heat automotive seat trim before
installation on the seat.
The combination of an extensive R&D commitment and
60+ year history of infrared design and application has
resulted in the Fostoria Seat Trim Heater.
The
new design has several key features that set it apart:
- The
operator can heat one piece of seat trim directly before
the stuffing process.
Heating the seat trim helps remove
wrinkles and aids in the installation.
- The
compact and efficient size of the unit allows it to be
used in busy production areas.
The unit can easily be mounted to a tabletop or
workbench.
- The
unit will heat the “A” surfaces of the seat trim to a
minimum of 180 o F in seconds.
- The
controls are built to the customer’s specification.
They can range from ON/OFF timers, to PLC systems
that regulate the heat output.

Fostoria Industries acquired ISO Certification to ISO9000:1994 on September 18, 1996. In
September 2002 we successfully updated to ISO9000:2000. By adopting ISO9000:2000 we must strive
for the satisfaction of our customers and the continual improvement of our quality management
system.

Fostoria
Industries, Inc.,
located at 1200 North Main St. in Fostoria, OH, recently
celebrated their 90th year of operation.
Founded
in 1917, the company was originally known as the Fostoria
Pressed Steel Corp., and produced fenders, running boards and
many other after-market parts for the automotive industry.
This association with the auto industry led to many new
applications, most notably the development of electric
infrared oven systems for the baking and curing of paint on
automobiles. Fostoria engineers in the 1930’s are credited
with pioneering much of the infrared technology still very
prominently used today in industry. Many of the principles
used in infrared application led to innovations in lighting,
as Fostoria developed and produced industrial work lights,
dock lighting equipment, and lighting fixtures used for night
lighting on construction sites.
In
the over ninety years of existence, the company has had
several names, including the original Fostoria Pressed Steel
Corp., Fostoria Corporation and Fostoria-Fannon, Inc. In 1973,
the company was purchased by TPI Corporation, Johnson City,
TN, and today remains a wholly owned subsidiary of TPI.
TPI Corporation is the USA’s leading manufacturer of
electric heating and ventilating equipment.
With over 90 years of operation,
Fostoria continues to produce a variety of quality industrial
equipment, including:
