Paint Curing Oven

Fostoria Industries designed a system that met Boville Industrial goals and made them believers in Electric IR. Fostoria’s engineers incorporated three ovens, one oven after each coating: base coat, top coat, and splatter coat. The first two ovens are 44” long Flash Ovens. Each use 21KW of infrared heat that peaks at 100°-125° F. These ovens are banked with heaters on one side with reflective material on the other, thereby recycling the heat and decreasing the exposer time to only 45 seconds.
Boville can now paint
the parts, run them through the
IR Oven, and package their product minutes after spraying. This system
has increased throughput and drying time immensely, and at the same
time has decreased material handling. This all adds up to increased
productivity with savings in time and money. “We found

Boville
Industrial Coatings of Smithville, OH wanted to speed up their
production. They previously coated extruded aluminum window and door
products and let them set over night, so that the paint was hard
enough for packaging. Their goal was to eliminate this time consuming
step.
The
Final Dry-Off Oven temperature peaks at 200°-225° F using 126 KW of
infrared heat. The product cures at a 2 minute 30 second exposure time
in a 11’ long oven.
