Control Systems

Infrared radiation borders visible light in the electromagnetic spectrum, and has many of the same properties.

One important property is the nearly instant on/off capability associated with electric infrared. Another is the ability of an infrared source to operate at any temperature up to its maximum wattage. This flexibility, and associated control, is the "bread and butter" of infrared process heating systems.

Controls Make the Difference. They are the components of infrared processing that:

  • Reduce operating costs

  • Increase flexibility to handle a wide range of products

  • Facilitate interface with the rest of the process line

  • Ensure repetition of outcomes improving quality control

  • Ensure safe operation

Fostoria Industries engineers design control systems that range from the simple to the complex. Some processes require little more than manual control, while others require computer-based systems integrated in a plant-wide control configuration.
